The Buick Signia concept was first revealed at the 1998 Detroit Motor Show. It was intended to be a versatile family vehicle with luxurious appointments Inside the spacious interior of the Signia was a range of tasteful and high quality materials and a clever computer system which allowed different drivers to save their preferences in the vehicle. Upon startup the operator would login - like on a computer, and the car would then adjust the seating and steering wheel positions, climate control and radio settings to suit the specified driver.
Unfortunately the exterior styling of the Buick Signia was monumentally ugly, it looked like a cross between a Pontiac Aztek and the Aurora safety car. Awkward style lines collided with bulbous body panels, and the disjointed window lines did even further damage to the Signia's kerb appeal.
